Life after Kernz08?

If there is sufficient interest there will be a three-day meeting at the Australian National University in the week following KERNZ08  in New Zealand. The meeting will be hosted by the Department of Nuclear Physics at the Australian National University.

It will be an opportunity for participants to visit the major Nuclear Physics laboratory in the southern Hemisphere, the Heavy Ion Accelerator Facility at the ANU: www. rsphysse.anu.edu.au/nuclear

The venues will be the newly opened Lecture Theatre at the John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCSMR ) on the ANU Campus and the  Department of Nuclear Physics. Both venues are within walking distance of each other and within walking distance of a variety of accommodation on or close to the ANU campus.

The campus itself is adjacent to the centre of Canberra City

Preliminary Schedule:

Tuesday,  ; 9th December: 4pm-9pm Sign-in; Informal reception; Laboratory Tours
Wednesday 10th December; 9am-5pm;  Presentations; JCSMR Finkel Lecture Theatre
Thursday 11th December; 9am-5pm;  Presentations; JCSMR Finkel Lecture Theatre
Friday 12th December; 9am-2pm;  Presentations; Nuclear Physics Seminar Room
Friday 12th December;  evening;  Wind-up get-together Nuclear Physics Garden

At this stage ANU is seeking a response from KERNZ08 participants  or others who  would be interested in attending.  ANU is mindful of the fact that some will already be making travel plans hence a prompt reply would be appreciated.

The meeting will be organised internally and ANU is anticipating a nominal registration fee of $200/head (cash) to cover lecture theatre hire, refreshments (morning and afternoon) and lunches on two days at the Finkel Lecture Theatre venue.
